A hoodie (also spelled hoody) is a sweatshirt or a jacket with a hood. There is often a pocket sewn onto the lower front and a drawstring to adjust the head opening. These garments are a hugely popular item in any sports or corporate team uniform. That’s pretty understandable when you consider how versatile and hard wearing this garment is compared to other outerwear products on the market.

Not all custom hoodies are created equal, there are a lot of options to choose from. Like most garments, the quality comes down to fabric choice and construction detail. These are elements that Pontoon has been working on, in an ongoing capacity, for a long period of time. As styling and fashion elements move forward we have been reviewing our garments to bring these elements into the custom made apparel area. Things like stretch fleece for fabric and styling elements like thumb loops and slim fitted cuts. These style elements can be found on the garments using our pro stretch fabric which is listed above.

The Pontoon standard hoodie is made using an American fleece which is a best in category fabric. This fleece is very durable so much so that you might be handing it down to your grandkids! The colour fastness level is unbelievable and the hand-feel is soft as you would expect from a item of this quality.

Our design and development team at Pontoon believe in making all our garments in specific men and ladies fits. In the past, it was apparel for men for a lot of companies. Ladies had to buy small men's sizes in their club colours - no longer! They are not flattering because men and women have different body shapes and we develop our products accordingly. This is a development philosophy that has been part of our company since we made our first run of rowing suits for the Sydney Rowing Club VIII for their Henley tour in 2000. We started by making elite apparel and we bring that through to all the apparel we make today.

You can create your own hoodie online on our online tool. This is a place, on our website, where you can get creative. Try out different colours and design combinations to get something that suits your club, team or business. The Pontoon sports kit designer cuts down the time taken up by the graphic development phase massively, which means the order goes into production quicker and to your door faster. To create any custom made apparel online with the Pontoon sports kit builder platform takes only a few minutes and is super easy. And, the great thing is the kit designer is always open so you can do this any time of the day, or night that suits you.

What Kind Of Fabric Do You Use In Your Garments?

We use a 300g fleece for most of our hoodies. We have been using this material for 10years and have had great feedback on it.

Does Sublimation Last?

Yes, Sublimation is the most hardwearing printing methods on the market. Sublimation will outlast other forms of printing like screen prints, and transfer prints. We do recommend trying to go with a soild dyed colour for the bottom half of the suit. As good as Sublimation is it can get damaged when rubbing on the seat on a long row.

Where Do You Manufacture Your Garments

We manufacture in Australia. We also do large volume production in China.
